Indoor Plantscaping

In 2012, working for builders Multiplex and client CEL Development Pty. Ltd., we achieved a world-first by ‘blowing’ soil media to a record height to podium gardens on Levels 31, 30, 27 and 4. What was initially a risky concept, was strategically developed for success with key subcontractors We Blow and builders Multiplex to ensure all OH&S regulations were adhered to. This methodology expedited the construction program significantly, allowing associated trades to continue without the hindrance of a large quantum of material being handled on the structure.

Throughout these multi-leveled podiums, we constructed feature hand-mixed and finished in-situ concrete planters with super-advanced 400l and 6m tall Silver Birches overlooking Melbourne’s city skyline. We manually handled all materials via bulka bags through a single goods lift, often completing the works out-of-hours, following the removal of the project’s tower crane prior to our commencement on site.

Upper West Side wins the AIH award for “Best Urban Green Space” in Australia. Congratulations to Far East Consortium, Cottee Parker, Multiplex, NJR and all the talented consultants/contractors involved in the design and construction of this one of a kind sky garden built to last over 50 years.

ANL are delighted to have played a lead role in the design, construct and maintenance of the Sky Garden over past the five-year journey. We look forward to maintaining this award winning landscape for many years ahead.

Working with builders Hansen Yuncken and client First State Group, we completed the project on the Level 4 rooftop podium at the high-caliber Bianca Apartments at 120 Bay Street, Port Melbourne.

Our scope of works included;

Working for St Hilliers builders and their clients Australand and Citta Property Group, we completed Stages 1, 2 & 4 of the expansive Living Carlton development. The project is an environmentally sustainable development, incorporating both social and private housing covering 7.5 hectares.

Our scope of works included;

  • Feature trees
  • Understory planting
  • Synthetic grass mounds
  • Exposed aggregate concrete paths/stairs
  • Custom-built barbecues and outdoor kitchens in the outdoor communal spaces

In 2013, we completed the Ashwood Chadstone Gateway project for our clients Port Phillip Housing Association and builders Icon Construction. The aim of this project was to provide an environmentally sensitive landscape that will help create a fully integrated multi-residential development comprising of four buildings, incorporating 282 apartments.

We completed the civil and landscaping works for Stages 77-78 and 80-87 of the Manor Lakes Estate in Wyndham Vale North for our clients the Dennis Family Corporation and landscape architects Tract Consultants.

Caulfield Village Stage 1 of The first stage of the BECK Probuild Consortium’s $1 billion development was finished in late 2016. Designed by Tract Consultants, this impressive landscape features Phoenix Palms, advanced trees and lush plantings throughout, this is not your typical development. High quality material finishes are prevalent throughout all the landscape. This complex and detailed build compromised the landscape being constructed over multiple podiums over the 5-acre site. The development has recently won the UDIA’s Award For Excellence – Best High Density Development Below 10 Storeys.
