Operating under extremely strict security guidelines due to the required protocol of an operating army base, we worked with builders Grocon on the Defence Force School of Signals (DFSS) and the Simpson Army Barracks in Watsonia for their working and live-in accommodation and Australian Signals Head Office.

Our scope of works included;

  • Construction of MFB heavy access vehicular road
  • Structural works, retaining walls and stairs
  • 400 lineal metres of blockwork retaining walls
  • Soft landscaping
  • Over 400 advanced trees
  • Design and construction of irrigation system
  • Landscape maintenance

We worked closely with the Cardinia Shire Council and Watpac builders to complete the Officer Town Centre. The timely and efficient completion of this project was a testament to our close working relationship with the builders and diligent planning from our team.

Our scope of both soft and hardscape works included;

  • Bulk and detailed excavation to our scope
  • In-situ walls
  • Installation of advanced trees
  • Design and installation of automatic irrigation system
  • Installation of planters to level 1, 2 and 3 terrace balconies
  • Feature custom timber seating

The landscape design, completed as a JV partnership between Aspect Architects and Oculus Architects, consisted of over 3,500m2 of open landscape. It is one of Australia’s most sustainable civic landmarks when combined with the first public building to receive six stars for a ‘Green Star’ rating from the Green Building Council of Australia; Library at The Dock.

Our scope of works included;

  • Feature in-situ concrete walls
  • Structural steel sub-frames
  • Engineered concrete beams and footings
  • The installation of 56 super-advanced trees

The Hopkins Correctional Centre Expansion Project (Ararat Prison Stage-1) commenced in early 2013. Working with Brookfield Multiplex and on behalf of the PPP consortium, we achieved a functional, economical and sustainable result for all stakeholders.

  • Over 80,000m2 of soft landscape
  • Detailed and bulk excavation
  • Sub-grade rectification and remediation
  • Sub-surface drainage
  • In-site concrete and gabion walls
  • Hydroseeding and establishment

Working alongside Probuild, Places Victoria, ARM Architects and Rush Wright Associates, it was a great honour to be a part of the construction and maintenance for one of Australia’s most significant landmarks; The Shrine of Remembrance. The project saw the delivery of new undercroft forecourt, which extends along the south quadrant and beneath the stairs. The forecourt creates a mirror image of the existing centre on the north side of the memorial, which includes two new courtyards meticulously designed by landscape architect, Michael Wright.

Our scope of works included;

  • Installation of a super advanced 6.5m Ficus Rubiginosa
  • Carpentry works
  • Custom accent feature items sourced from Australia-wide
  • Soft and hard landscaping
  • Irrigation
  • Maintenance

We worked closely with Leighton Contractors to complete the landscaping package for the world class $107million Victorian Emergency Management Training Centre for Major Projects Victoria and The Metropolitan Fire Brigade (MFB). This facility provides training for the MFB, SES, CFA, police and ambulance services.
